BEST UFC FIGHT EVER

BEST UFC FIGHT EVER: Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida

Happen to catch the Ultimate Fighter season finale matches last night on SpikeTV? Holeeeeeee Shitttttt!!! The Main Event was a knock-down drag-out WAR featuring Clay Guida vs Diego Sanchez. When it was all said and done, it was literally the best MMA fight I have ever witnessed.

Let's just hand out the awards this fight won right now.

BEST FIGHT EVER: Sanchez vs Guida, 2009

You should seriously consider finding a replay of this fight and watching it for yourself. I have never seen two fighters more fired up for a fight during the pre-fight walk-throughs. Guida was extremely fired up for this fight. He was jumping through the crowd, screaming and yelling. He was ready to fight! Diego Sanchez looked like a maniac during the walk-throughs. His scowl was evil! He looked like he wanted to take Guida's head off. The staredown before the bell was legendary. It reminded me of some of the old Muhammad Ali staredowns. Both fighters were right up in each other's faces!! Both fighters wanted to GET IT ON!!!

At the sound of the bell both fighters went straight at each other. No dancing around, no feeling each other out. Both fighters went directly at each and threw nonstop blows for the first minute of the fight. Toe to toe! Nonstop! Punch after punch! It was insane!! Never have I seen a fight begin like that. It gave me goosebumps, and it gives me goosebumps now writing about it. The crowd was going absolutely berserk!

Diego inflicted most of the damage in Round 1. Guida took and amazing amount of punishment. Most fighters would have quit or been knocked out. Guida even took a violent leg kick to the face that knocked him on his ass. But Guida never quit. Clay Guida has some serious heart. He even managed to fight back and take down Sanchez a couple times. Yes, this all happened in the legendary first round.

The fight was a war the for the entire three rounds. It would eventually go to a split-decision. The third and final round was a bloody mess. Guida has long fluffy hair. Halfway through the bout his hair was saturated with blood. Guida's long hair was wet and drenched red with blood. It was a site to see. His face was mangled and covered in blood as well. That man didn't care. Guida fought the third round hard and gave everything he could. However, Diego was the better fighter. Diego was covered in blood, and I mean covered. He was weary from this war, but he fought until the final bell sounded. It was one hell of a fight.

Sanchez won by split-decision. It was definitely a battle for the ages. It was right up there with Forrest Griffin/Stephen Bonner, Hagler/Hearns, and Mickey Ward/Arturo Gatti as the best fights I have ever seen.
