Paypal Deception & Higher Fees

Paypal charges a high 2.9% rate for customers who qualify for much lower rates.

Very few are aware of Paypal's sneaky tactics. Paypal publishes a fees chart, a percentage that it charges people to process payments, which varies based on monthly volume and supposedly the fee decreases with higher sales. But unless you go to this hidden page and opt-in to the lower fee, they hit you with their maximum percentage fee no matter what.

Why hide the lower fee page? Paypal is greedy! Why not convert their best customers to the lower fees automatically? Paypal chooses to be as sneaky and deceptive as possible. > Who cares about our best customers who are bringing the most revenue for our company?! Let's screw them over! THAT IS PAYPAL'S PHILOSOPHY.

Paypal is owned by Ebay. We all know Ebay has been continuously raising their fees to extract more profit for their quarterly Wall Street earnings reports. Scumbag companies like this should not be tolerated. Do what you can to avoid PayPal and Ebay.

Fight Of The Year

Still buzzing about that UFC fight last weekend! Fight of the Year! Sporting events like don't come along too often. Damn that was seriously one hell of a fight!

Years ago John Madden was announcing a Superbowl. During the many hours of pregame they did an interview with Madden. The guy interviewing Madden set him up with a question he thought he knew the answer to. With all the Superbowl hype around him, the question went like this "John, is there anything like this? Is there any greater sporting event than the Superbowl?" Madden pondered and replied, "The Superbowl is fantastic, but I think a big fight is as good as it gets."

Madden was right. He didn't care that the Superbowl was about to be played. He had to be honest. A big fight is as good as it gets. Mano y mano! Clay Guida vs Diego Sanchez was that fight.

BEST UFC FIGHT EVER

BEST UFC FIGHT EVER: Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida

Happen to catch the Ultimate Fighter season finale matches last night on SpikeTV? Holeeeeeee Shitttttt!!! The Main Event was a knock-down drag-out WAR featuring Clay Guida vs Diego Sanchez. When it was all said and done, it was literally the best MMA fight I have ever witnessed.

Let's just hand out the awards this fight won right now.

BEST MMA FIGHT 1st ROUND EVER: Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida, June 20th, 2009
BEST FIRST MINUTE OF A FIGHT EVER: Sanchez vs Guida, 2009
TOP 5 BLOODIEST FIGHTS OF ALL TIME: Sanchez vs Guida, 2009
BEST PRE-FIGHT WALK-THROUGHS APPROACHING THE RING: Sanchez vs Guida, 2009
BEST PRE-FIGHT STAREDOWN: Sanchez vs Guida, 2009
BEST FIGHT EVER: Sanchez vs Guida, 2009

You should seriously consider finding a replay of this fight and watching it for yourself. I have never seen two fighters more fired up for a fight during the pre-fight walk-throughs. Guida was extremely fired up for this fight. He was jumping through the crowd, screaming and yelling. He was ready to fight! Diego Sanchez looked like a maniac during the walk-throughs. His scowl was evil! He looked like he wanted to take Guida's head off. The staredown before the bell was legendary. It reminded me of some of the old Muhammad Ali staredowns. Both fighters were right up in each other's faces!! Both fighters wanted to GET IT ON!!!

At the sound of the bell both fighters went straight at each other. No dancing around, no feeling each other out. Both fighters went directly at each and threw nonstop blows for the first minute of the fight. Toe to toe! Nonstop! Punch after punch! It was insane!! Never have I seen a fight begin like that. It gave me goosebumps, and it gives me goosebumps now writing about it. The crowd was going absolutely berserk!

Diego inflicted most of the damage in Round 1. Guida took and amazing amount of punishment. Most fighters would have quit or been knocked out. Guida even took a violent leg kick to the face that knocked him on his ass. But Guida never quit. Clay Guida has some serious heart. He even managed to fight back and take down Sanchez a couple times. Yes, this all happened in the legendary first round.

The fight was a war the for the entire three rounds. It would eventually go to a split-decision. The third and final round was a bloody mess. Guida has long fluffy hair. Halfway through the bout his hair was saturated with blood. Guida's long hair was wet and drenched red with blood. It was a site to see. His face was mangled and covered in blood as well. That man didn't care. Guida fought the third round hard and gave everything he could. However, Diego was the better fighter. Diego was covered in blood, and I mean covered. He was weary from this war, but he fought until the final bell sounded. It was one hell of a fight.

Sanchez won by split-decision. It was definitely a battle for the ages. It was right up there with Forrest Griffin/Stephen Bonner, Hagler/Hearns, and Mickey Ward/Arturo Gatti as the best fights I have ever seen.

Major Problem with Blackberry Bold phone

Major Volume Problems With Blackberry Bold

I spend an inordinate on my phone. I wanted the best phone available, cost was not an issue. I didn't want an iPhone because I prefer a keyboard (I hate finger pressing on a touchscreen). I went with the Blackberry Bold. Cost: $549.

Turns out this piece of shit has problems. I won't go into detail about the minor problems. The major one is the volume. Every time a new song comes on the volume changes back to a very low default volume. WTF! I'm at the gym working tri's and every fricken new song I have reach down on my phone and turn the volume back up. I have Bang & Olufsen earphones ($175) and the music sounds so sweet on those babies. If I'm jamming to Kings Of Leon and the next song comes on with super low volume - it pisses me off! Whether I am playing poker or at the gym lifting weights listening to music on my phone, it is extremely annoying to have adjust the volume for every new song.

Memo to the Research In Motion CEO: fire the fricken idiot who came up with that design flaw. The entire music player on the Bold has been a major hassle to work with. It sucks! Blackberry is light years behind Apple in that regard. The Blackberry App store is a joke too.

Blackberry is still superior in my #1 concern: email, so I am keeping the phone for the time being. Apple needs to come up with a phone that has a keyboard! RIMM needs to come up with a phone that has a decent music player!

* Update to this article. I do actually like the Bold very much. There is no better phone out there. I just needed to vent over the volume problem in the music player.

Incredible lineup of MMA fights coming up!

UFC: Clay Guida vs. Diego Sanchez, Las Vegas, June 20: Sanchez (22-2), the enigmatic winner of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter, then fighting as a middleweight, continues his run for a lightweight title shot against Guida (25-9). A former junior college national wrestling champion, Guida is easily the company’s most popular mid-level fighter. His constant aggression, unique charisma, great heart and chin (which he will need since Sanchez will have a significant edge in the stand-up game) endless stamina has led to Guida being in three of the greatest matches in recent years with Gilbert Melendez, Roger Huerta and Tyson Griffin. But he also lost all three.

UFC: Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir, Las Vegas, July 11: There was probably no fight in MMA history more hotly debated beforehand than the February 2, 2008, match between the two. Mir, a former UFC heavyweight champion on a comeback after a nearly career ending motorcycle wreck, beat former pro wrestling superstar Lesnar, making his UFC debut, in 90 seconds. But Lesnar dominated the entire fight until being caught in a leglock. Was it a rookie mistake of inexperience by Lesnar that the last 17 months of training has nixed, or a reality that Lesnar has an Achilles heel against submission fighters that he’ll never shake? Since that time, Lesnar (3-1) shut down his critics by beating Couture and becoming the UFC heavyweight champion. Mir’s win over Lesnar catapulted himself to a match with UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, where in a huge upset, Mir (12-3) became the first fighter ever to finish the legendary Brazilian.

UFC: Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago Alves, Las Vegas, July 11: Welterweight king St. Pierre (18-2), tied for the top spot in the Yahoo! Sports pound-for-pound rankings, has been unstoppable for two straight years in taking down and dominating three of the best wrestlers in the sport in Matt Hughes, Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch. Alves (16-3), looks to be his most difficult challenge because neither Hughes nor Koscheck could take Alves down, and his stand-up game is more explosive than the champion.

UFC: Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping, Las Vegas, July 11: A drama between the coach of Team U.S. and Team U.K. on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter. Bisping (17-1) would likely get a middleweight title shot with a win, which would be the biggest MMA event ever in the Liverpool, England’s native country. But Henderson (24-7), the only man to hold world championships in two weight classes at the same time, is the heavy favorite. The big question is age, as Henderson will be six weeks shy of his 39th birthday at fight time and gives up a decade on Bisping.Affliction:

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Josh Barnett, Anaheim, Calif., August 1: THIS IS THE BIG ONE! At least on paper, Barnett (24-5) looks to be Emelianenko’s biggest challenge since his win over Mirko Cro Cop four years ago. Barnett is good enough at all facets of the game that he shouldn’t be the latest in the line of victims of in-ring drive-bys from the 30-1 (1 no-contest) native of Stary Oskol, Russia, who is the other half of the No. 1 pound-for-pound debate. This as the last of the old-school heavyweight match-ups of the heyday of Japanese MMA, with Fedor as the long-time champion of PRIDE, and Barnett as the heavyweight King of Pancrase, a rival organization. Both Fedor and Barnett are ten times better than the UFC's Lasnar or Mir.

UFC: Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin, Philadelphia, August 8: Silva (24-4), the UFC middleweight champion, moves up in weight to try extending his all-time UFC winning streak record to 10, against the former light heavyweight champion. Griffin (16-5) can’t match Silva for speed or skill, but he is physically bigger and likely stronger. But what Griffin is expected to do, given his incredible fighting heart, is break Silva’s streak of two terrible main events, that have made UFC officials wary of headlining a show with “The Spider” against the wrong opponent.

UFC: B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian, Philadelphia, August 8: With six straight wins, Florian (11-3) has proven that looks are deceiving. Looking more like a college biology student than a fighter, Florian combines quick Muay Thai skills with high level jiu-jitsu, and has improved greatly since his first shot at the lightweight title three years ago. Penn (13-5-1), the champion, has to both physically and mentally rebound from his high-profile shellacking at the hands of St. Pierre on Jan. 31, the most devastating loss of his career. Make no mistake, this fight will be a bloodbath!

Won my NBA Finals bet...

Yes I won my largest NBA bet of the season as LA beat Orlando in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Yes I am the greatest sports bettor of all time. Yes I have a wod of cash that I am going to spend irresponsibly on strippers, booze and a new pair of sunglasses.

However, football season is fast approaching and it's time to start building a bankroll....

Lakers will win Game 4 - NBA Finals

I feel very strongly about this one. Bet the Lakers +2.5 in tonight's game! Orlando set an NBA record in their previous game shooting an amazing 75% in the first half of Game 3. 75%!!! And they still barely won that game. No way they come close to matching that shooting performance.

I'm betting the Lakers big tonight.
